This university intends to launch B.Arch and M.Arch. programmes. These programmes shall be duly recognized and approved by the “Council of Architecture (CoA)” and ‘University Grant Commission (UGC)’. Hence, after successful completion of the B.Arch., student can register with the “Council of Architecture (CoA)”. Student shall be entitled to practice as an architect after such registration. Hence, these programmes shall be equivalent to the respective programmes offered by any other statutory university in India, for the purpose of employment, promotion and further education. This university shall use following for teaching-learning process in these programmes: 1. Face-To-Face Counseling at Study center for 280 hours in each semester 2. Virtual Classroom Modules (VCM) 3. Online Counseling using Discussion Forum 4. Self-Test Center Using Randomization and Adaptive Algorithm It is believed that these teaching learning tools will enable this university to impart world class architecture education in open and distance mode.

SAF has proposed to fund 400 scholarships to this year (2005-2006). Each scholarship will be rupees equivalents to US$ 100 per annum (approx. Rs. 4500 per year). Young men women who have been selected for admission to a postgraduate or vocational diploma programme being offered by Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik, India are eligible to apply for this scholarship scheme. Interested students should apply directly on or before 30th Sept. 2005. Previous awardees and fresh aspirants should apply fresh in the new modified application form, which is available on SAF website http://www.southasiafoundation.org. Awardees of 2004 are eligible to apply if they provide - (a) Mark statement in which all courses are completed in one attempt an (b) Have enrolled themselves to the second year by paying the required fee to the university.
