Courses of short term programmes consist of two components: a theory component and a practical component. The end examination of theory component shall be conducted online. The practical examination shall be organized and conducted at the study centre in the presence of external examination.
The evaluation system with the following details regarding combined marks of a course, award of class, award of certificate, provisional certificate and re-examination shall be as follows:
1) Total marks of a course: The marks obtained in the theory paper(out of 80) shall be added to the marks obtained in the practical examination(out of 20) to obtain the total marks of the course. Thus all the courses of this programme shall carry total 100 marks. To pass in a course, student has to obtain minimum 40% marks in each course component i.e. in order to pass in a practical examination, student should obtain at least 8 marks in it. Similarly, in order to pass in theory examination, student should obtain at least 32 marks in theory examination.
2) Award of Class : The class of the student for the certificate and diploma programme shall be computed on the basis of grand total of marks obtained in all the courses. The class will be given as per table given below:

3) Award of Certificate: All students appearing for the examinations of certificate shall be given "Mark Sheets". Students who successfully complete all the courses in the certificate programme will become eligible for award of certificate.
4) Provisional Certificate: As soon as the theory examination is over, provisional certificate shall be printed and signed by the external examiner as well the coordinator of the study centre. The provisional certificate shall be given to the student. The regular university certificate shall be offered by YCMOU in due course of time.
5) Re-Examination : The students not completing courses successfully will be required to reappear for the concerned component at the next end examination and improve their grades therein. |
